I'm afraid I've had one of those days at work today! In fact, I'm still there now and it's pushing 7pm! So I haven't time to share anything that is all that new. Instead, I found some photos for a card that I never posted that I thought I would share. I hope that you'll forgive me, given the circumstances!
So a number of years ago(!) I needed to create a Congratulations card that was masculine. I wanted to try and mimic something a bit Steampunk-like, and ended up with this:

I started with a Smokey Shadow cardstock panel and impressed it with the Tin Types Impression Plate, then rubbed it with Metallic Copper ink to bring out a rusted effect. I distressed the edges and inked with the same. I then pierced some holes and added some copper brads to the rounded corners.
The sentiment panel was die cut from Kraft cardstock using the Mat Stack 1 die and stamped with Background Basics: Woodgrain. I stamped the sentiment (sorry, haven't had a chance to check which set it's from!) using Smokey Shadow ink. I added some tiny screw brads to the panel too.
How about that cool wire on the two panels?! I twisted together some wire and then wrapped them round the panels. I love how this turned out!
Finally, both panels were adhered in place on a Smokey Shadow card base using a lot of Pinflair Glue Gel. And that's it!

It is different, I like how you inked the edges, it really looks metallic and I like that you used wire. Masculine is hard for me, and you did a really good job of it.
Well, I can see how it doesn't fit in with your 2013 style but I still love it! It really looks like you've taken an old piece of copper, painted it, and sanded the embossed part! I'm impressed! :)
Different and creative! And interesting mix of textures and elements-- definitely masculine!
