14 Days of Valentine's Cards - Day 7!

Hi everyone! How are you all today?

I'm bringing you Day 7 of my Valentine's Series! For those of you who are new to this series, here's what's what:

Due to the popularity of my 25 Days of Christmas Cards posts (well, they were popular with me anyway!), I thought I'd bring you a series of cards that are perfect for Valentine's Day! And, just to give this series a little twist, I am challenging myself and keeping them all as cards that are suitable for guys! Every year I see a smorgasbord of beautiful Valentine's cards, and they are all very well done and very inspiring - but they all tend to be very girly. So I'm bucking the trend and bringing you a fortnight of cards dedicated to the men in our lives!

So today's card features the Gel-à-Tins SWAK (Sealed With A Kiss) set. This is full of lips - quite girly right? Wrong! Watch this:

How awesome, right?!

I started with a Harvest Gold card base and stamped the mini lips trio using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I then used a stiff brush to stipple on A:Muse inks in Lido, Squash, Pumpkin and French Roast to give the effect of leopard print!

I didn't want to cover up much of that background after all the work that went into making it, so I opted to add a tag to house my sentiment. I die cut the tag from Kraft cardstock using the Fillable Frames #9 die, then  stamped it with Background Basics: Postmarks and the On The Farm set from PTI using Kraft ink.

I then built up the sentiment from a bunch of other stamp sets to give a Subway Art look! I used MFT's Typewriter Alphabet, Avery Elle's Lots of Love and Mama Elephant's Midnight Letters, with some creative masking to make the word 'Wild'!

I crumpled up the tag and threaded it with twine before adhering to the base with Pinflair Glue Gel. A tip for twine that defies gravity - paint on some Matte Mod Podge and shape the twine as you wish, then hang upside down to dry!

Well I would love to know how this series is grabbing you so far! What do you think I should tackle next? Thanks so much for stopping by - I'll be back to see you all again soon!

This card really captured my attention a few days ago. Who else would think of inking up the lips in black! the card looks really cool and unique! It does make me think of cheetah print! :)
