Uniko Studio February 2014 Release - Introducing Background Builders: Squared

Hi everyone!

Happy Sunday! This is my second post of the day. Please scroll down to see my Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge project. :-)

Today is the second day of Introductory posts for the Uniko Studio release!!

This month's release definitely has something for everyone!! Today I'm sharing another set that is super versatile and bound to be popular - Background Builders: Squared!!

Like its circular counterpart, this set features several designs around its basic shape, as well as some border elements too. Great for geometric and bold patterns, and super-versatile!!

I have seen tribal prints such as Aztec gaining popularity as a trend of late. That inspired me to create this bright fun number:

What do you think?! I love how this turned out!!!

I started by stamping several of the squares onto a piece of Pure White cardstock using Versafine ink. I then used Distress Markers to colour in the images for a bit of Aztec pop!
I adhered my squares in a random pattern onto my card base, using the solid square to stamp two rectangles using Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Worn Lipstick.

Finally to finish it all off, I added a sentiment from the Label Love: Thank You set and I was all done!

I guess, technically, that I could enter this card into my own Cure For The Monday Blues Challenge, lol. But I'd much rather see you enter instead! The current challenge ends at 9pm GMT/4pm EST today so you still have a little time!!

So what do you think? Are you loving so far?! I really recommend checking out the Uniko blog where Bev is officially introducing the release every day - and also to the designers who are also showcasing this set! Make sure you comment on each of their gorgeous creations - they deserve it!!

I'd love to know what you think of today's creation - I love it when you leave love! Thanks so much for stopping by - I hope to see you again tomorrow for the next day of the release!!

  6. This is one eye-catching, striking, FAB-U-LOUS card! Perfect showcase of the new release, and amazing inspiration for your challenge (which I really should try, but I'm such a newbie card-maker my card would likely cause people to laugh themselves silly! Still...nothing like trying and learning...). Definitely inspired; definitely adding this set to my wish list...
